Mit dem Fall der Berliner Mauer stürzte die Welt in ein neues, unbekanntes Zeitalter. Wo sind wir heute? Wir stehen hier – auf der Narbe der Gegenwart – um sie immer aufs neue zu kartieren.

Lücken-Dynamik ist ein öffentliches Forschungsprojekt der Künstlerin Jagna Anderson in Zusammenarbeit mit dem p.u.r.e. Kollektiv. Es besteht aus 6 Wanderrouten entlang der ehemaligen Berliner Mauer, die im Laufe eines Jahres immer aufs neue begangen werden.
Die Mauergrundstücke wurden nach 1989 verstaatlicht und die meisten innerstädtischen Grundstücke kurz darauf an den Meistbietenden verkauft. Die ehemalige Grenze zwischen Ost und West wurde so zu einem Spektakel der Kommodifizierung, Finanzialisierung, Hyper-Gentrifizierung und Entropie.

Während der Spaziergänge beobachten und diskutieren wir diverse Strömungen im urbanen Raum – materielle, finanzielle, soziale, pflanzliche, akustische, linguistische – und deren Sedimentierung. Lücken-Dynamik setzt eine soziale Choreographie in Gang und generiert alternative Erzählungen über die Stadt und ihre aktuellen Transformationsprozesse. Das Projekt kartiert die Machtverschiebungen und sucht nach noch vorhandenen Räumen der Partizipation.

With the fall of the Berlin Wall, the world plunged into a new, unknown age. Where are we today? We stand here – on the scar of the present – to map it again and again.

Gap Dynamics is a public research project by the artist Jagna Anderson in collaboration with the p.u.r.e. collective. It consists of 6 walking routes along the former Berlin Wall which are being visited again and again in the course of a year. The Wall and Death Strip plots were nationalized after 1989 and the most of the inner-city plots were sold then to the highest bidder. The former border between East and West has thus became a spectacle of commoditization, finanzialisation, hyper-gentrification and entropy.

During the walks we observe and discuss all the different types of flows in the urban space – material, financial, social, vegetable, sonic, linguistic – and their sedimentations. Gap Dynamics sets a social choreography in motion and generates alternative narratives about the city and its current transformation processes. The project maps the power shifts and searches for still existing spaces of participation.
